Lindsay Feuer, Bloomin' Hybrid No. 1

The Ironwood Gallery kicks off the fall season with an exhibition of new works by eight accomplished American ceramic artists. The exhibition of sculptural ceramic art features diverse techniques, from handbuilt porcelain and terracotta to raku to clever trompe l'oeil and mixed media. The exhibition runs from September 16 to October 23, with the opening reception on Sunday, September 18, from 1-5pm.

The exhibition features exciting newcomer Lindsay Feuer, with delicate, unglazed porcelain sculptures that reveal her unique creative vision of natural, hybrid forms. "The primary inspiration for my work," says Feuer," is the phenomenon of living organisms in the natural world, suspended in the fluid space of their environment. The limitless potential of clay reveals a pleasing convolution of organic form and surface through the combination of disparate yet related natural elements. The work becomes otherworldly yet strangely and unnervingly familiar. My intent is for the pieces to exist in a space of seamless illusion on their own accord, unfettered by the handicraft of man."

Feuer is in very good company with Elizabeth MacDonald, Marilyn Richeda, Ron Artman, Jeanne Bisson, Richard Newman, Laura Peery and Leonid Siveriver in this inspired collection of contemporary ceramic art.
